.016 / Mary Katrantzou FW11 : nostalgic yet stylish

The vivid printed Greek designer, Mary Katrantzou is her Fall Winter 2011 collection which is inspired by the late interior paintings of the 19th century French painters Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard. The prints are nostalgic with a sense of elegance. It is patently obvious that Mary finished her work after months of toil.

Some praise the collection is a combination of the elects from the fashion photography and fine art industry. I just cannot take my eyes off those dazzling paints which are so eye-catching indeed. What an engrossing collection it is. It is beyond dispute that Mary has tried her every endeavour the make the collection as better as it can be and it completely reveals Mary's calibre of matching different colours and paints together.

To match the luxurious collectibles that inspired these prints, Katrantzou borrowed silhouettes from the haute couture wardrobes of their imagined owners. (The names of legendary style icons like Diana Vreeland, Babe Paley, and the Duchess of Windsor were bandied around, though there was a bucket skirt shape that could have been in Armani's last Couture collection.) But, to be honest, the artificiality of these shapes scarcely felt like a remove from Spring's lamp shades.

.015 / every man should fold a pocket square

It is manifest to everyone that men with shirts are so ''seductive'' and sexy. However, not every man knows how to wear the shirt in a proper way, not to mention do they know how to light up the total look by folding a pocket square. I often see men with very handsome look but wear the shirt in a pretty awful way. For example, the shirts are not fit, not tailor made to be exact. I, however, am not saying that tailor-made goods must be good. I cannot stress enough the importance of getting a shirt that actually fits well. You can manage to squeeze into a variety of sizes, but without the proper fit, the sleeves will leave your wrists exposed if they're too short or will bunch up if they're too long. Moreover, a tight collar will look bad and choke you when you wear a tie. A loose collar will look ridiculous. Make sure the sleeves and collar are the right size to fit comfortably and look sleek. Here comes the way how can you be smarten up by doing a thing, pocket square.

In case you still cannot figure out the proper way on how to fold a pocket square. You can follow the method in the following video.

If you doubt if it is so important to dress in such a formal way? Then it's a high time for you to know about the importance of men’s business shirts.

For a man, the choice of shirt is often one of the most noticeable dress items. Some people say that a business shirt, or dress shirt as they say in the states is the first alphabet of a man’s body language. If you happen to buy the wrong shirt… well the first impression you leave may not always be the best. A careful selection of suitable and matching dress shirt is very important, (sometimes it could be a good idea to get your girlfriend’s advice if this isn’t your strong point!). It’s always important to take into consideration the below six dimensions if you’d dressing to impress; occasion, design, colour, dimension, collar and fabric.

.013 / film review of The Shopaholics

the cover of the movie, Shopaholics, a Hong Kong movie

Will you feel that you are bound to buy ''something'' back home when you go out to shopping? How much money do you spend on buying things per month? Do you think that you are a shopaholic? I just watched a film called Shopaholics, talking about the life of a girl who are a shopaholic and her love life with two millionaires.

In hopes to help you having a better understanding of the term, shopaholic, here comes the definition of it by Wikipedia.
Shopaholic is a term used to describe individual who consider themselves as addicted to shopping. Shopaholic can also refer to:
A slang term for Compulsive Shopping also known as Compulsive buying disorder
Shopaholic (novels), a series of books written by Sophie Kinsella
Confessions of a Shopaholic (film), a 2009 film adaptation of the The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic, the first book in the Shopaholic novels series
Shopaholic (TV series), a Norwegian television series broadcast by TV3
The Shopaholics, a 2006 Hong Kong film *(the film I just watched)

I really feel so sorry for those having compulsive shopping. They hold firm to their beliefs that they will feel better when they go shopping. This, however, will just worsen the situation. We have to find the root of this problem in order to solve it thoroughly. I do some research on it. I have copied some from the website. You are read the details on the website.

How do I prevent shopping binges?
Pay for purchases by cash, check, debit card. Make a shopping list and only buy what is on the list. Destroy all credit cards except one to be used for emergency only. Avoid discount warehouses. Allocate only a certain amount of cash to be spent if you do visit one. "Window shop" only after stores have closed. If you do "look" during the day, leave your wallet at home. Avoid phoning in catalog orders and don't watch TV shopping channels. If you're traveling to visit friends or reltives, have your gifts wrapped and call the project finished; people tend to make more extraneous purchases when they shop outside their own communities. Take a walk or exercise when the urge to shop comes on. If you feel out of control, you probably are. Seek counseling or a support group such as Debtors Anonymous.
If you have already being treated by your doctor, I do have something to remind you which I learn from this funny movie.
Do not mix up Prozac with Buspar lest the situation may deteriorate.

As one may say, '' More haste, less speed''. Do not be worried if you are a shopaholic. With collective efforts, I am sure the problem can be solved. Good luck!

.012 / be a seductive gal with Topshop

Girls can now try their every endeavour on matching different fashion items ranging from bags, shoes, dresses to accessories. Girl who loves to play mix and match can look at the poster sale in the UK Topshop stores in spring 2011 women's new bar, heroic piece breeches, ladies' nude color shirts, jeans, british lunfan stars and stripes pattern of warm weather, to name but a few.
Dressing up with different kinds of colours are the key to success in the latest season. Be dare to try different colours and it helps you to stand out from the other people and thus becoming the diva in the clubs.

.009 / 3.1 Phillip Lim rocks.

Phillip Lim is a shinning star in the fashion industry nowadays in no wonder. For any asian fashion designer, it's by no means easy to catch the attention from the western world, if not all. Luckily, God seems to know how brilliant they are. There are more and more asians fashion designer being appreciated and be invited to join the Fashion Week which is a great honour for any designer. Those names are not mediocre such as Alexander Wang, Vera Wang, Rei Kawakubo, Jason Wu and Phillip Lim included.
Phillip Lim is the very first asian designer that I really really like. He seems to know what a man and a girl wants and he is natually dexterous to all these. As a matter of fact, I am just an ordinary student and I ain't rich at all, but he is the very first designer that I would even like to pay for his design. I even did go to Harvey Nichols to search for his products. Harvey Nichols, however, didn't carry out his collections at that time. This was another amusing story worths telling to all you guys.
Alright, let's get down to the business. I quite like his bags in this recent collection.
This one is so nice. White leather goes very match with the design and this can be a clutch bag I think? (Okay, if it is not designed to be a clutch bag, you can also use it, right? It's a kind of creativity shown on your outlook which means you are pretty different from the others but not in an odd way). The only thing that I concern about this bag is the cleanness problem. It's easy to get dirty for a white bag.

.008 / shoes are of great importance to every fashion guru.

I super love this pair of shoe. I like the yellow colour, it goes so prefectly match with the soft leather. I want to know which brand is it and I promise I will save up for this. But the point is that my shoe size is 38 so I think I can't get one formal and proper male leather shoe, alternatively, I think I am able to buy one from womenswear because my size is exactly the same size as my younger sister and most of my female classmates.
Prada shoe again. The sharp orange leggings is so match with the shoe. Thumbs up for this and I like the bag as well. It got quite a good shape and so big which is appealing to me because I love to bring myraids of things out such as books, iPod, my phone, my keys and you name it!
It's obviously that they are flirting each other by their shoes. If I were the man, I would add a lot of marks about the woman because her shoes. I can't take my eyes out of it.
They are match and the forms of the shoes are good as well. Such a good pair of couple.
They are so sexy indeed. They are flying, jumping and dancing. I can feel the beat.

.007 / Prada SS11 is a mixed blessing.

In last year, when I first saw those pictures, I don't really like it to be honest. It's a kind of mixed blessing I guess. Miuccia Prada is good at trying to make new fabric and this totally mirrors on her collection. The SS11 Collection is about hosptial scrubs in no wonder as you can see those clothes are just like the uniform of the doctors as well as the nurses.
However, when it comes to Prada now, what immediately springs into my mind is the iconic shoes that launched in the SS11 Collection. With a thicker crust or a sole, oneself can really walk more comfortable.
This shoe is quite amusing as it has a relatively thicker crust, the form of the shoe is also beautiful. The leather works very prefect with the blue colour and the details.
Here is a man wearing a Prada Sweater and a pair of Prada shoe. It's so awesome and fab!. He is so seductive to anyone. He wears those things with effortless grace which is so prefectly appealing to me.

I am thinking about getting a sweater like the above one because I want to add more colours into my life as I always wear black and grey shirts and tee shirts. It is on no account easy to find some bright colours on my look so I think this is a hightime for me to get some sweater and shoes in sharp and warm colour so as to add more colours on my blook. This summer is going to be a prefect one but the point is that I have no money to buy any new clothes. A big sale can help me I think. TEEHEE!

.003 / naive yet cute

I personally quite like babies. Though one may grumble at them as they love to cry. But come on, that's the only thing they know when they are born. The very first thing that they learn. I love seeing babies in well-dressed. However, they need to have a mother or father who loves fashion or good at matching clothes. Otherwise, it may turn out very very very ... errr it's slippy.
Check those babies out!

.002 / A Night With Marc Jacobs Bag

Last night, when I was still in the Mainland China, I watched a Taiwen TV show which is about the collections of Marc Jacobs. This impresses me a lot. Not only is it about the stunning collections from the talented designer Marc Jacobs (indeed, one of my beloved designers), but also the details of the show. The host is a Shop Manager I think because a common salesperson wouldn't have the chance to represent the brand. The host reads Marc Jacobs so perfectly. Alright, this is a common name but many Hongkongers read it wrong, how ridiculous it is.
The host is mainly presenting the Spring Summer 2010 Collection, with the feature of Marc By Marc Jacobs but let's just focus on the mainland aka Marc Jacobs. I personally quite like this collection. It has many seductive bags, albeit expensive ,in a decent shape.
#1 / Marc Jacobs Coated Leather MJ Satchel
It's kinda like a Hermès bag though. The lock makes it even more perfect! This kind of brown colour is the best and I would buy one if I had enough money. This smooth leather seduces me a lot like what Britney Spears or Selena Gomez does?
#2 / Marc Jacobs Amber Corner Zip Tote
For one thing, The lock is so eye-catching. For another, this bag has two shapes as you zip up the bag. The leather seems so smooth, as the Marc Jacobs leather tends to be.
#3 / Marc Jacobs Dancer Tassel Bag
This bag is so funny as it got some strings of leather. (I don't know how to describe the tiny little leather string...?) When you walk around, these strings will move like a kid dancing when he listens to music. And this bag is suitable for those who are in their 20s as this can show how pretty they are. One may think this bag is a little bit too fussy. But I hold firm to my belief that this bag is cute indeed. Here is a picture from Face Hunter.
